Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 23, 2026

1. Introduction

Shipyie ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our convention order-taking and shipping platform and related services (the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, business name, and billing information. This data is necessary to provide and manage your subscription.

Order Data (Customer Data)

When you use the Service to take orders at conventions and events, you may collect and store contact and shipping information about your customers, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and shipping addresses. You are the data controller for this information and are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and consents to collect and process it.

QR Code Submissions

When your customers use the QR code feature to submit their shipping address, we collect their name, phone number, email, and shipping address. This data is stored securely and is only accessible to you as the booth operator.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, device type, browser type, IP address, and session duration. This data helps us improve the Service and diagnose technical issues.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional communications (order confirmations, shipping updates, billing receipts)
  • Generate shipping labels and tracking information through carrier integrations
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve product features and user experience
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about your account
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or Customer Data. We may share data with:

  • Service providers — Third-party vendors who help us operate the Service (hosting, payment processing, SMS delivery, shipping label generation). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Shipping carriers — When you generate shipping labels, we transmit order and address data to the selected carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.) to fulfill shipments.
  • Legal compliance — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and row-level security policies. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Offline Data

The Service stores order data locally on your device when you use offline mode. This data is encrypted and synced to our servers when connectivity is restored. Local data is automatically cleared after successful sync.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information and Customer Data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we retain data for up to 30 days to allow recovery, after which it is permanently deleted. Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain types of data processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@shipyie.com.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, contact us at privacy@shipyie.com.
